Great News! Tawarri got GOLD!

Great News! Tawarri Olive Oil won GOLD!

This year we entered the Australian International Olive Oil Awards again, after a few years break. We knew this season’s oil was very good, and it is so encouraging to have that verified by judges across many countries.
We celebrated by watching the Awards on zoom here - and were absolutely delighted to see we won Reserve Champion, Class 1 Mild as well!

The Chief Steward of the competition said:
A gold medal [means that your oil is] really very very good. It would compete very successfully if it were compared to other international oils of the same season.
The milder style of oil that we produce is becoming more popular in the market place than more robust oils - that is good for us!
The over 200 oils judged were mainly from Australia with entries also from Spain, Greece, Italy, Tunisia and New Zealand.
Because of Covid, judging panels were located globally - in Australia, and in Tunisia, Spain, Italy, China and New Zealand. All of the internationally trained judges were very complementary about the standard of Gold Medal oils.
The AOA conference is being held virtually all this week. The marketing research webinar was most valuable. Research by Woolworths is that even at the supermarket level, more Australian Extra Virgin Olive Oil is sold than imported EVOO. Our industry is doing well on all fronts.
